In honor of our August Exhibit: CREATURE FEATURE, MCA invites you to join us for our next art workshop #atTheBrick! PAINT YOUR PET: An Acrylic Pouring and Embellishing 2-Day Workshop! Come CREATE with us August 17 & 19 (2-days apart!) from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at The Brick Gallery in gorgeous downtown Ocala (23 SW Broadway Street).

MCA Members: $60
Non Members: $65
ALL materials included for both days!
In this 2-day workshop, students will explore the super fun pour painting technique and create surprise random patters with flow acrylic on canvas. Bring a few printed photos of your pet or favorite animal for reference. Learn brush techniques for fur, hair and how underpainting can create real effects. There is instruction about eyes, ears, and different shapes of noses, and perspective.
Class#1 Students will pour two canvases using two different techniques. Color theory, composition and design will be discussed also.\

Class#2 Students will embellish their paintings with an animal of their choice. Printed reference photos are encouraged to bring to class. All students will be in a drawing for a free framing of their work.

All materials will be provided! This is a messy class, so make sure to wear your "play" clothes. We will also have aprons available. All students will be entered in a drawing by the instructor to win a free framing of their work. BYOB! Students 21+ can bring their own beer, wine and snacks. Grab a bottle of wine from Stella's Modern Pantry or The Keep Downtown right across the street and make it a "Paint & Pour" class (wink, wink)!
About the Artist: Recently transplanted to Florida from Pennsylvania, Bridget, and her husband Jim, left the cold winters and retired from their horse farm to live on a beautiful lake in Dunnellon. Bridget now could dedicate herself to art and re establish her picture framing business. Bridget has always been extremely creative, and mostly self taught. She had a niche for pen and ink animal portraits for years and has drawn over 200 portraits of dogs, cats and horses--even a parrot! While she loves watercolors and mixed media, 2020 gave her time to explore new mediums and acrylic pour painting is her latest passion. She developed a unique style which she calls “fusion” between slightly abstract and realism. Her Paint Your Pet Portrait and landscape classes are very popular, and allows her to enjoy her other passion--teaching. She teaches painting and calligraphy at her studio and also Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon. See some of Bridget's work at bridgethanleystudio.com.
